Hi again! Sorry for the slow updates, it's been very busy here!
The geese started laying about 2 weeks ago, and I'm setting the first batch of eggs today. I'm so excited! So far, two geese are laying at the farm (the grey quartet) and one buff at my house started laying yesterday. I've cleaned out my garage in preperation for tubs of chicks and goslings and in the last couple of weeks, we built another shed and plan to branch out a breeding/ grow up pen from it. Small sheds for the pasture are popping up in prep for goslings, and I'm buying boxes for the April/May hatch.
The Faverolles are in their breeding pens now, but the hens are being finiky about laying now that they have been moved. We've gone through a nice transition into spring though, and I got two eggs yesterday from them. They should be laying like normal in a week or so. I don't plan on hatching any chicks until July, but if you want chicks sooner you can contact me, and I'll see if I can fit some in with the goose eggs.
Thanks for following the site! If you have any questions, please, leave a comment here or contact me through my email!
My phone finally died this week (after 2 years of steady abuse to the poor thing, including getting dropped in the pond several times) and I won't be able to get calls until I get my new one in about a week or two. If you need to contact me, please call my mom's phone 951 551 9469
